What this does that a viewer doesn't
Forms with no fields
Council, court and school forms are often just printed lines. This page finds the lines, reads the label printed beside each one, and writes onto the page in the right place — instead of asking you to drag a text box into position twenty times.
Fields with meaningless names
Real government forms name their fields
Text1 and f1_04[0]. Tools that match on the field name are
useless on them. This one ignores the name and reads the label printed next to the
box, so what you see is what you fill.
Nothing here is remembered. What you type lives in this tab and disappears when you close it — there is no account, no cookie and no storage. That is the honest limit of a web page: it is a good way to fill one form. Filling the fifth one means typing your address a fifth time.
What it will not do
- Dynamic XFA forms. The ones that show "Please wait… if this message is not eventually replaced". It refuses them rather than hand you a file that looks complete and opens blank — why that happens.
- Scans with no text layer. A photograph of a form has no text to read and no lines to find. It will say it found nothing rather than guess.
- Sign or certify anything. It writes text. Signatures, dates of certification and anything notarised are still yours to do properly.
